We've been hard at work putting a lot of community-driven changes in place in The Forge since our last playtest during E3. While we have a lot of exciting changes to discuss next week, with the launch of our Alpha play session, we wanted to the time this week to tell you about the important work that's been happening over the last few weeks.
As outlined, we've listened closely to the community's feedback specifically around performance, making numerous changes to all areas of the map. The outcome of these changes has been drastic, for example in highly-dense areas such as the train yard and sawmill, players will notice an increase of approximately 10-20 frames-per-second [FPS] as we've optimised various facets including the number of polys in these areas.
We've also been taking close note of some of your more notable issues that really seemed to impact your enjoyment of the game. It's definitely frustrating when you force someone to take a leap of faith, dropping from a great height and then seeing them take no fall damage. Thankfully, this, along with a plethora of other small, but impactful, bugs have been squashed and will no longer be present from our next play session.
As a reminder, you'll get your chance to get back into the Dern from Friday 26th July until Monday 29th July. Prior to this, to give you an insight into the upcoming features, we'll be sharing another update next week where we'll tease you with some clips and more information.
It's an exciting time to be in The Capital, we look forward to seeing you there.
