Firstly, thank you to every single one of the Founders for helping shape the direction of Mavericks: Proving Grounds. Some Founders have already been busy exploring the Isle of Dern and exploring the world the game has to offer. Many of you have gone the extra mile providing detailed feedback that we are working hard to act upon and integrate into the game. Others have been sharing stories with other members of the community and our community managers, reporting bugs and required fixes which we are developing with every passing update.
This week, we are opening the game up to more Founders. Those that perhaps weren't the first to jump in when it launched back at the end of November, but are looking to enjoy the game and be part of the journey they've bought into, especially now as we roll into the holiday period. We will be bringing in more cohorts of early subscribers and sign-ups, including those that registered their interest around E3, after the New Year.
Before you go diving into the game, however, we wanted to highlight the mission and why we've developed Mavericks: Proving Grounds the way we have. Most AAA games take years before they become public-facing as they are worked on rigorously by scores of teams to ensure readiness before release. Mavericks: Proving Grounds is not this game, yet.
We have moved away from the traditional development model of the game industry and have brought in the community early. Why? Because we want you, the Founders, to be part of the journey as we build it up from Ground Zero. The Forge is the first iteration of Mavericks: Proving Grounds and is not a finished game. Call it an Alpha or Beta if that works for you, but as we see it - it's the first version of a game that is evolving every day.
The Forge is rough and unrefined. It's buggy and technically challenging. It's also not the most fun game in the world. If this what you are looking for, go and pick one up from your local indie game retailer and enjoy it. We will welcome you back with open arms when we launch Mavericks: Proving Grounds in full as free-to-play in 2019.
However, if you want to be part of a journey that is unique to the industry then download The Forge now from our website. Play with your fellow Founders, feedback to us in the Founder's Forum and Discord Channels. Tell us what you love, hate, loath, abide, and what you want to see. Give us as much feedback and commentary as you can so we can make this better for you, the players. You have bought into our mission and we can only make this a success with your input. Your input is going to help drive this game forward.
This week we are going to be sharing details of Battle Royale play sessions across both EU and NA servers for Founders. Among our other updates, we've overhauled the map, adding in numerous new areas for players to engage in deadly firefights and establish their dominance. Additionally, we've revised the gunplay particularly at long-range making it more realistic and challenging and brought in further changes to the day/night cycle. We've shown some examples below.
Thank you again for all your inputs so far, we can't wait to hear what else you have to say. Here's to seeing you in The Forge, a fantastic end to 2018, and a successful 2019.
With our love and thanks,
